Context: An evening Crush Wine Bar
Notes: Some friends and I met up for a flight or two of wine. The angle of this photo isn't great, but I still really like it.

Context: Sunset in our neighborhood.
Notes: We'd had some friends over for dinner and were cleaning up after when we noticed how pretty the sunset was at 10:30pm on a spring night.

Context: A view of Turnagain Arm
Notes: Although I love the sunny days, I have come to appreciate the grey hues that Alaskan landscapes often provide.

Context: Bailey prepares the cream cheese container for the recycling bin
Notes: I did have to tell her to stay in the kitchen a couple of times, but she was both pretty well behaved and hilarious with her "task".
Camera: DSLR Context: A walk in Stanley Park Notes: I stopped to take a picture of a couple of seagulls on the rock, but this heron flew in and displaced them.
Camera: DSLR Context: Walking around Vancouver Notes: For some reason, I love the juxtaposition of the wires with the building reflecting another building here
Camera: iPhone Context: A beautiful day in Alaska Notes: I took this panorama (the first I've tried with my phone) on the way back from a day of tubing at Arctic Valley. I love the mix of mountains, inlet, city, and clouds.
Camera: DSLR Context: My relatively clean coffee table Notes: I have been so delinquent in regularly taking shots, but I wanted to get started again. I thought that snapping the coffee table in our living room was worthwhile because it was a)cleaner than usual and b) has some of my new favorite big books on it.
Camera: iPhone Context: Snowshoeing at Prospect Heights Notes: I went snowshoeing for the first time. Mark and I went out to Prospect Heights and did about an hour along the Golden Grass and Power Line Trails. This was probably my favorite shot that I took from the outing.
Camera: iPhone Context: A slow sunset on campus Notes: I was struck by how colorful the sky was as I looked out the window from my campus office. I went outside to take a quick shot with my phone.
Camera: iPhone Context: A nearly full moon on a cold clear night Notes: Undoubtedly this shot would have turned out better with my DSLR, but I was on my way home and only had my phone.
Camera: iPhone Context: Before an opera performance at the Discovery Theater Notes: This was the second time I've seen something in this theater at the Performing Arts Center. I like the space.
Camera: iPhone Context: Bailey joined me in the office but refused to work Notes: The start of the semester and a lot of time spent at home meant that I didn't take as many photos as I should have during the first weeks of the year and often lacked for inspiration. At least I have a cute and silly doggy to catch longingly looking out the window.
Camera: iPhone Context: A winter's afternoon Notes: I took this photo from the balcony off of our dining room, and I loved the effect that running it through an instagram filter gave this wintry shot.
Camera: iPhone Context: Around campus Notes: The snow falling on campus that day was really pretty and it felt like something of a reverse snow globe effect.
Camera: DSLR Context: A wintry sky Notes: I was working at home and noticed how lovely the sky looked with the sun fighting to come through the clouds when I let Bailey out at lunchtime.
Camera: iPhone Context: At a celebratory dinner with my husband Notes: I finished work on a publication project, so Mark and I went out to dinner at Orso to celebrate.
Camera: iPhone Context: Munching moose Notes: Mark and I took Bailey to a park this morning and as we were leaving we noticed a moose hanging out right outside its entrance. It was my first time to see one of these giant beasties, but I doubt it will be the last.
Camera: DSLR Context: My Inspiration Board Notes: I made an inspiration board to hang up above my treadmill. I rarely complete craft projects so it seemed like this should be documented.
Camera: iPhone Context: Saturday morning in Anchorage Notes: Mark and I went downtown to have brunch at Snow City and run some shopping errands. I took this photo with my phone from the parking garage.
Camera: DSLR Context: Documenting an unusually clean study Notes: I was lacking inspiration on a day I spent mostly working and doing some cleaning up around the house.
Camera: DSLR Context: An afternoon sky Notes: I know I take too many landscape shots of mountains, but the sky was just too beautiful not to notice or snap this one.
Camera: DSLR Context: Dinner at home Notes: Since we had spent the previous day flying and in airports, we had a low-key NYE at home. Dinner followed up with prosecco and uvas.
