128/366: Snow in September
Camera: DSLR
Context: First snowfall of the "fall"
Notes: I took a couple of shots, but I actually liked this one with flash, as the contrast between the dark sky and the snow showed up better than it did on the night setting.

127/366: Of Books and Bread
Camera: DSLR
Context: In my kitchen
Notes: My makeshift attempt to use Spanish polemicists to keep my bread pan from going off track.

126/366: Scenes of Tree Carnage
Camera: DSLR
Context: My backyard
Notes: I hate that we've had to cut down almost all of their trees, as their foliage is so beautiful. I can't afford them to do any more damage, though.

125/366: Smiles for Coffee
Camera: Phone
Context: As seen on campus in the morning
Notes: Seeing this and having a full travel mug full of coffee were great ways to start a day on campus.

124/366: Foliage
Camera: DSLR
Context: My hedge
Notes: I took this on macro, but it was a little bit windy, so I couldn't quite achieve the effect I wanted.

123/366: Fall in the Neighborhood
Camera: DSLR
Context: An afternoon shot in my neighborhood
Notes: I would love to see some more sun, but I have to admit that the clouds can add some nice drama to a shot.

122/366: Bodega Fest
Camera: DSLR
Context: At a local beer festival
Notes: Apparently if you stop taking lots of photos you will regain some of your self-consciousness about being the hipster d-bag with the DSLR at events. I wasn't thrilled with the lighting here, but I didn't want to take thousands of photos with strangers in them either. At least I documented a fun time.

121/366: Openness
Camera: Phone
Context: View during a run
Notes: I loved the colors that I saw during my run this morning. It felt like a gift to see some blue sky after a week of grey and rainy days.

9-20-2012

120/366: Ghostly
Camera: Phone
Context: View from my office
Notes: The quality of light and the lack of flash gave this photo some of that grainy vintage feel that instagram goes for with the addition of some spooky reflections. It's an interesting shot, if not a particularly pretty one.

119/366: Gray Day
Camera: Phone
Context: View during a walk today
Notes: I'm almost surprised that there are still any leaves on the trees as we have had 3 massive windstorms in the past two weeks. I figured I should capture some of the colorful foliage while I should and also get back on the 365 wagon after falling off for 3 weeks.

118/366: Playing with Instagram
Camera: Phone
Context: Unpacking boxes
Notes: My muerta was a casualty of the move. She lost her head and neck. Sadly in a previous move she lost her arms. Also: I just don't really find instagram all that appealing. I must be missing some sort of blogger gene.

8/26/2012

117/366: Tree at Dusk
Camera: DSLR
Context: One of the trees in our back yard as the sky darkened
Notes: I played around with various settings, but I couldn't quite capture the color of the sky. This was my favorite of the shots, though, because of the slight bokeh effect on some of the leaves.

8/25/2012

116/366: Along the Coastal Trail
Camera: Phone
Context: View during part of my morning run
Notes: I loved the cloud cover in the distance on the estuary here, so I stopped during my long run to snap a quick picture.

8/24/2012

115/366: View from my campus office
Camera: Phone
Context: Natural beauty near campus
Notes: I wish I had the blinds that go from the bottom of the window up, so they I could block off passersby but still get glimpses of the mountains.

8/22/2012

114/366: The Sunny Spot
Camera: DSLR
Context: Bailey soaks up the sun
Notes: On sunny days our study gets a lot of natural light. My fingers are crossed that we have another sunny day soon.

8/21/2012

113/365: Dramatic Sky
Camera: Phone
Context: View when I got home from yoga
Notes: As I was driving home from yoga class that evening, I noticed how dramatic the clouds looked as they covered up the mountain tops.
