78/366: Cleaning the Paintings
Camera: Phone
Context: Periodicals Room of the New York Public Library
Notes: This was one of those times that I really wished I had brought my DSLR along with me. I do think there's something interesting about the quality of light in this shot, though.

77/366: Late Medieval Art in the Cloisters
Camera: DSLR
Context: In The Cloisters
Notes: I don't usually take pictures of art in museums anymore, because the lighting usually isn't very good for it and the pictures don't tend to come out very good. However, I was really struck by this processional piece, though.

76/366: New Vogs
Camera: DSLR
Context: Loot from the NYC Fluevog Store
Notes: I couldn't resist picking up my first pair of Fluevog sandals.

7-13-2012

75/366
Camera: Phone
Context: Drinks with a friend at the Trailer Park Lounge
Notes: If I had only realized that I could get my settings back to normal by restarting my phone entirely, I could have captured the ambience of this fun bar even better.

7-12-2012

74/366
Camera: DSLR
Context: Green spaces in the city
Notes: It took me several shots to get one where the butterfly was recognizable, but I'm still not happy with the shadow that Im' casting. Oh, well.

7-11-2012

73/366: Community Garden
Camera: Phone
Context: Somewhere in the St. Nicholas and 150s area I stumbled across this little garden
Notes: I couldn't figure out why the colors seemed so muted in the shot, but it was because the settings on my phone camera were all screwy.

7-10-2012

72/366: The Hudson in Black & Whitel
Camera: Phone
Context: Morning in New York
Notes: I don't know how it happened, but I bumped some button on my phone and it turned the setting to black and white.

69/366: Blurred Junior Bridesmaid
Camera: DSLR
Context: A friend's wedding
Notes: I'm not sure what setting the camera was on when I took this, but I wish that I did so that I could replicate this sort of soft blur.

7-06-2012

68/366: Beer
Camera: DSLR
Context: Dinner and drinks with a friend
Notes: This was the Texas Speed Bump IPA which was delightful and a pretty color that was captured much better without flash.

Context: The packing of my closet
Notes: Not a very patriotic picture to document Independence Day, but this is what I spent much of my fourth of July doing.

65/366: Sockish Bun
Camera: Phone
Context: Using the mirror tool on the camera on my phone to document my sorta sock bun
Notes: I like that I have a reflection of a reflection going on in this shot, but the quality of the shot (and of the bun) are less than to be desired.

7-02-2012

64/366: Crayontastic

Camera: Nikon D3000

Notes: I took some similar shots a while back (before I started the 365 blog). I decided to play around with the idea again.

63/366: Shaded Path
Camera: Phone
Context: Sunday morning long run
Notes: This has been my favorite path for the 2 years that I've lived here. Each time I've run along it, I've noticed something new or seen something different as the seasons changed. Today it was how the trees shaped a tunnel over part of the path.

6-30-2012

62/366: Trendy Two Tones
Camera: Phone
Context: Waiting for my passenger
Notes: This was one of those days when I sort of lacked for inspiration. I do rather like how my quick home manicure turned out, though.
